i'd really like 2 get a 'corset piercing'. im planning 2 do it 4 my formal (& afta of course) i was wondering wat the healing
percentage iz (bcoz i was told my horizontal surface piercing under my navel had 50/50 chance).
would it be a better idea to get it done a few days prior to the event, or should i do it months/weeks before. i was also wondering the price range,
and where i can go 2 get it done...thanx

As I understand (correct me if I'm wrong) most corset piercings are generally a temporary decoration. I can't imagine you having an
enjoyable formal with 12 or more healing piercings on your back. Sure it might look 'cool', which is oh so important isn't it????

a dare hey? I'm sure it will look lovely, 12 red, swollen surface piercings down your back. Your formal photos will look great! But if
it's something you really feel you desire for you special night, I reccommend you find a good piercer and talk to them about it first. I think
corest piercings do you great - temporarily. I hope to get one done one day to, most definetly for a temporary occasion and certainly not because
they look 'cool'. Good luck for your formal. I hope you have a memorable night

It' l be memorable alright, painfully memorable.. not to mention the
probablilty of knocking them and peoples filthy little fingers wanting to touch them.
Can you not pic another time to do it and take the darer with you to watch? of course you could still take photographs to the formal so you can get
some attention.

hey i dunno anything about corest piercing..didnt know they existed till now actually lol ..but yeh..i wanna know more about them..its not for me..but
looks interesting. why is it only temporary..whats the point in it then? and wouldnt u want them healed before u wore them out to a formal..where i
presume ull dance n move around a bit..if they are freshly pierced then ouch.. as i said i dont know much but yeh. i wouldnt do it just so u look
pretty interesting to everyone around u..make sure u really want it..ull just be left with unattractive little scars. anyway..good luck!

I'd personally be going for a big temporary tattoo or one of those nice gem tattoos for the night over a corset piercing.

I agree with chel. it will be alot more comfortable for you. and these days you can get some really awesome temp. tattoos. some tattoo studios and
artists even do them if you ask. now that would look great for a formal!

i understand what u mean, and id giv the same advice 2 any1 else, and i do giv that advice 2pplz who cum up 2 me saying " h i want this pierced, i want that pierced" because i've got a fair
more than other pplz they know.
but i corset is something i have looked at before, and thought about 4 quite some time. i think they are beautiful, and im not doin it 2 impress any1,
because the pplz that have heard think it will look ugly. im doing this 4 me. i still have sometime yet 2 decide if i want it done, but im pretty sure
my mind is set. thanx 4 the advice though, i realli appriciate it.
how much will it cost me to get a corset with 5 rings on each side? do u know of anywhere in melb that will do this? and if i was to get it done in a
month, will it last til october? when would u suggest the best time 4 me is 2 get it done? (formal is in late oct/early nov)

As far as I know, most corset piercings are done as performance art.
As such you would probably be getting it done on the day of the formal, and having the jewelry removed that evening or at the lastest in the next few
days.
I also imagine that it would be quite expensive, you do need 10 pieces of jewelry. Probably looking at $300-400 just for the jewelry.
It's not the type of thing I would get done for a formal actually. I dunno you as a person but performance piercings, alcohol and a whole heap of
dumb ignorant drunk people don't mix too well.
I mean it'd be a nice thing to have at a formal, but it's not incredibly realistic. Sorry.
Edit: Oh and fcukbabii, I am in no way trying to be offensive or insulting but if you type in proper english, with punctuation, you come across as
more intelligent, better educated and more knowledgeable. People tend to not talk down to you so much, and respect what you have to say more.

Yeah, i understand how soon it would need to be taken out. Which makes me wonder if i'd really like to get it done now, or wait til another big
occasion.
Does anyone know of anywhere in Melb i could get it done, or just go in & get a little more research on it?
Thanks Arete.
Also, the reason i might not come across very educated, is because im 15. I've still got a bit to go.

you're underage
I don't know any piercer who would do a corset pierce on a 15 year old. Probably best to wait 3 years or so. It's a pain but then it's
life.
Also, I read your other thread and again I'm not trying to be insulting, but if you are serious about performance and unusual work, you should
respect people like Karl and Duncan. They own pretty much the most progressive and experienced studios in the country (Duncan owns Polymorph and Karl
owns Puncture).
I am not a piercer but I have a biology degree and am on my way to having a masters degree in biology and what they say makes sense.
Getting advice on piercings from Karl and then calling him a know it all is like getting advice on how to be obnoxious from Anthony Mundine then
calling him a know it all.

I have 12 piercings, all Legit. & done without I.D or parents consent. if i need to be 18, or have a parent/guardian there, my mum will do sign the
forms, we've already discussed it.
my usual piercer has never asked me for my age before.
oh, also, with the Karl thing...
thats been over 4 months now....
and i wasnt angry at him for helping me...

hey that's cool. Just saying cause you are looking in the vauge direction of stuff that only people like Karl and Duncan can competently do.
Probably better to make connections with them in case you actually want a suspension or implants or something in the future. Oh and that thread is
dated from 8 weeks ago not 4 months.
I wouldn't go to a piercer who didn't ID a 15 year old because if they are cutting corners with consent, they are most likely cutting
corners elsewhere like with sterilisation. But if you trust them it's your body in the end. I wouldn't.

O.K, so i was 2months off date... still, it has been a while since it happend.
whats suspension or implants?
Im not into hardcore piercings...yet
I know what you mean...my piercer's do sound a little dodgy... but by the time im old enough to legally get them done, i might not be interested
in them anymore...

wtf?
can you be 100% sure that in 15years time you will still be as interested in piercings as you are now?
at the moment, i like them alot, and im hoping to become a piercer, but i cant be sure that in 15 years i will feel the same.
if i change my view on them, later on in life, it doesnt mean that while i like them, i cant keep doing them.

Well, I have tattoos as well and they don't come out. I also have stretched piercings that may or may not close up if I left them out. My
piercings as much a part of me and my life as say, my ear... (as in, you can remove it and still live, but I would (and do) feel a sense of loss and
incompleteness without a piercing). I'm sure most people here would say the same...

yeah i can 100% say in 15 years i will have the same interest in piercings as i do now, it's been 10 years since my first *real* piercing and i
can't see me losing interest at all.
Im not likely to do anything unless im 100% sure i want what im getting.... i can't imagine why anyone would.

As others have previously stated corset piercings are a decorative thing. Yeah they're pretty much only surface piercing but thats lets say for
example 20 piercings with rings laced down your back.. meaning HEAPS of swelling, very red and painful. you cant sleep on them wear tight clothing on
them, they may bleed the 1st week These piercings can grow out. I understand how promptly you will remove them right after the formal. And in saying
this ok price wise? surface piering rang say $40-$60 each plus jewellery, for 20 piercings thats $800+ unless you have a close mate for a piercer or
they may give you a deal you're looking at serious money to throw away for a dare. Yeah they look amazing but not something to jump into cos of a
dare.
On top of that there are no laws in australia to stop anyone of any age to get any piercing they like. But id say any piercer who will just give a 15
year old corset piercings without parental consent may not be the best person to see and might consider they may just want your money. thats my
opinion though. And hey theres nothing wrong with stick on gems or temp tattoos as someone previously stated:)

yeah they look amazing.. When they arent red, swollen, and bleeding. which is possible for the first while... Well thats cool ya mums accepting of
that and financially enabling you to also (does she know how much it will cost and the outcome?) Im all for experiencing things and having a story to
tell to say you got it, but im speaking from experience but i think you should sit down and actually talk to the piercer you want to do it. See what
they say cos they will give you the honest truth. id like to hope.
