Corset piercings....

Okay, been talking to people about getting a corset done. I feel it'd be pretty stupid to get it done if it rejects, does anyone know the chances of this happening? I heard that if I use tygon or PTFE the chances of rejecting aren't as high. Most say this is only a 'for show' piercing and that people usually take them out after awhile. I really would like to make this a permanent thing, but I don't want to do a /trial an error/ thing and waste $500. Thanks.

If you had this done with transdermal implants it would work and be permanent.
I honestly wouldn't bother with having them pierced unless it was temporary (like a day) to reduce the amount of scarring.
I've seen one transdermal corset and think it looks great. If you're truely serious about it in the long term, i say go for it.

Unfortunately it is a bit hard to get info on transdermals but it is possible.
http://www.BMEzine.com has some bits and pieces of information and images but through http://iam.bmezine.com you can contact and checkout portfolios of a plethora of practicioners who are mostly in the USA.

Surface piercings are a bitch to heal and generally grow out that's why they never look good once it starts to heal.

I think they are show piercings. censoreding hot show piercings! I would love to get one but only for a short time I would take it out soon as you can see the tracks in my skin after my body starts to reject it.

Um.. actually... if surface piercings are done correctly (ie correct jewellery, depth of piercing, suitable techniques etc) then they can actually not only heal quite well, but also have a long and happy life span.

What you are saying is a misconception that is enforced by under-educated piercers taking on this form of advanced piercing with primitive jewellery and methods.

Wayde is right.......mostly, even a well done surface piercing with the right jewellery and techniques can still reject, but having them done properly in suitable locations can work.

I was told The Piercing Urge don't do them. Because the correct technique (which wayde is probably talking about) is difficult and time consuming.

Ummm .. here's a few you could try to contact, ask LOTS of questions and go with who you feel comfortable with. The only one of them i can personally vouch for is Brian but the others all have quite good portfolios.

Phish is in Seattle - http://www.slavetotheneedle.com
Steve Haworth is in Phoenix - http://www.stevehaworth.com
Brian Decker is in NYC - http://www.sacredtattoo.com
Steve Truitt in in Albuquerque - Stainless223@aol.com

The base plates are the same as everyone else's we will make them 8-6ga, but you will be able to use Industrial Strenght attachments in the same gauges. If there is something special you want maybe we could make it?

Cheers Karl;)

sounds really good!
Will they be machined from one piece or constructed from seperate components??
I'm interested in some 4 gauge pieces, i need specific post lengths though.. would that be an issue??
